How to find a good behaviourist/trainer?

My dog has always struggled with separation anxiety but after a lot of diy training from us he could be left alone for a couple of hours.

But then he suffered an injury, had to be away from us at the vets and then on crate rest for months which he hated, and consequently we’re back to square one. In fact minus one as he’s now more anxious than at the start.

I feel like a prisoner in my own home not being able to leave the house. It takes loads of planning (and money!) to do so. I need professional help. But what/who am I looking for? And how do I find them?

I’m using my small savings for this, not to mention my sanity needs saving, so I don’t want to mess it up.

IMDT is one associated with modern positive trainers. That would be a good starting point

Look at nose to trail. Rachael specialises in this

On Facebook, Dog Training Advice and Support. It's a Facebook group, self study with lots of information on separation anxiety and some paid for private groups that can give excellent individual advice. They also have info on how to find a reputable Behaviourist.
