Hello 👋🏻

Wondering how much you would expect to pay for this service

Cage free / kennel free home boarding
Council licensed
Insured
Large secure garden
24/7 cctv
2 acres private woodland suitable for dogs that can go off lead
2 walks a day 20 minutes each
first aid trained
CPD course in canine communication
8 years experience
USP - We only board one families dog at a time!

I just got my license yesterday now I’m trying to figure out a price per day. What are people’s thoughts?

In my opinion, offering 2 short walks isn’t ideal for most dogs but surely you cater for the individuals - that’s the part that dog owners are looking for. That home experience, where their dogs have their routine as close as possible. That said if those 20 min walks were doing some scent games etc then that can be as tiring as good run for dogs.
I would find it a bit odd that you’d charge more for longer walks for dogs staying in your home, surely you’re looking after the dog whether that’s walking them or being at home with them. I’d expect a dog walker to charge for longer walks, but not a dog sitter.

Not sure on price, I think I’d pay more for someone I was 100% happy with.
I visited the Rover app some time ago, and one boarder wanted £95 a night! I can only assume he hand fed the dogs caviar & their drinking water was Voss 🤣. Might be worth looking on there though to get some price idea.

I'm south coast & pay £34 per 24 hours. This includes 2 walks, 1 of which will be around 1 hour & the other around 45 minutes.

I would expect this amount of dog walks to be included in the price - I wouldn't use you if you charged more for walking more than 20 minutes as the whole point of home dog boarding is that they are treated like they are at home & i don't know any dogs who would need nist 2 x 20 minute walks.

We also get photo updates every day. Dog sleeps where she is comfortable so for our dog it's in the bedroom.

Our dog loves other dogs so we're happy when there are more dogs there for her to play with.

Hmmm. You asked so I will give you my feedback-

2 twenty min walks wouldn't be enough for most dogs-bit cheeky to charge more for longer.

If your two dogs are there then my dog is not the sole dog so you shouldn't charge as if it is. Bit like an Nanny bringing her own child.

My dog goes off lead but if your garden not securely fenced then I think very risky.

For those reasons I would not use your services.

The lady my dog goes to doggy daycare for has them overnight and charges £20. They get at least an hours walk in the morning, and out again in the evening. Even on doggy daycare days he can come home shattered. They sleep in the living room, though he did once sneak in and sleep under her bed (cheeky as he sleeps in his crate in the kitchen at home!). He loves going to her, she takes no rubbish from him. She only boards dogs that she has for doggy daycare so they all get on.

Loads of the licensed borders round here do daycare as well and take them all out at once given you can walk up to 6 dogs at once. The best dog walkers in the area often do 2 hour walks in the nice weather even though they are only charging for one. If the dogs are having fun they stay out.
