Grieving Dog?

We unfortunately had to put our cat to sleep last week (Weds). The dog didn't seem to notice that he wasn't around for a few days, then yesterday has started to act a little depressed, looking sad, following me around, not finishing his breakfast.
Could this be grief?

When we had ddog1 pts the vet warned us to beware the other ddogs would grieve.. This fills me with dread and we get ddog 2 pts later today.... Sorry for your loss op..

I am sorry to hear you had to have your cat pts. people under estimate animals they do grieve. they get used to other pets being around even if they seemingly do not get on at the time it is still a change to circumstances.
Our Patch did not know Poppy long before she died but years later you still say to him where is poppy and he will run round looking for her. Patch came into the home a few months before she died.
I think all you can is lots of cuddles a few extra treats and time will heal

Thank you for your message.
I wish the dog could speak to me. It's hard to tell if it's grief or that he's feeling under the weather. It wasn't immediate after the cat went.
I shall keep an eye on him (I WFH luckily)
