2 year old dog constantly getting infections?

We have a 2 year old who is half cocker spaniel half beagle. She is constantly getting various infections and i wondered if this was normal?
in the last year shes had a stomach infection, ear infections x 2, uti x2 and last night she started acting unwell again and tbh it seems like she now had an ear infection again shes shaking her head and drooling but i had a look betwern her legs and that also looks infected its red raw and looks like it has ulcers.

waiting for vet callback but he will just give us yet more antibiotics - this constant infection cycle cant be normal can it? We have another dog the same age who has literally never been ill!

We have a beagle and for the last 2.5 years he has suffered with horrendous ear infections. Had swabs, aquepel, injections , antibiotics, the list is endless. It's cost a fortune . Off my own back 8 weeks ago I thought I'm going to try grain free dry food , gave him nothing with cereals in . His ears are now perfect , cleared up within 2 weeks and I clean them daily without a hint of any issues.

I would try grain free too. It sorted out our dog's recurrent ear infections.

I was going to suggest underlying allergies/intolerances.

We had a JRT who ended up with skin infections due to scratching herself. We never did pin down the underlying allergy, but a different kibble and half a Piriton a day kept her comfortable for the rest of her life.

We also have a beagle X cocker who used to be ill all the time for the first year. Moved to raw dog food, and has been 100% healthy ever since.

It definitely sounds like allergies - what food are you giving?

Many if not most dogs are lactose intolerant - my puppy loves cheese but even the smallest squeeze can lead to him itching. He had filthy ears that were constantly smelling of yeast until I cut lactose out. Many dogs also have problems with beef, chicken and grains. It's worth having a think about his food, and cutting out lactose first (as it's easiest) to see if it makes any difference; I'd follow that by trying to cut out beef, then grains, then chicken (as it's in bloody everything!). Best of luck.
