Dog electric blanket

My very skinny dog is feeling cold to touch in the morning, so I’ve bought her an electric blanket. She doesn’t chew anything, so I think she will be safe with it.

I have no idea what temperature I should set it on, for overnight. Anyone know?

Don’t suggest a jumper, she hates them.

Thanks.

Go for middle ground as a starting point.

Used to have one for my elderly cat, she loved it 💞

Thanks. It goes up to 56c, which I think is too high. It’s set at 37c, so I’ll see how that goes. I’ve just peeked at her and she looked very settled.

Normal temperature for dogs is 38.2 - 39.3. Slightly higher than for humans.

I kept getting up in the morning to my dog shivering, so she's now in 2 jumpers and the heated throw switched on and it's seeming better. I do try and tuck her in at night but she obviously doesn't stay in that position for that long so then seems to get super cold.

I bought mine a cave bed but she won't use it but in theory they seem a good idea. I've had a terrier tunnel in the past too and they can work well. Mine has an electric blanket now. It's only on low but it does seem to help. She sleeps in a jumper too. I worry about her over-heating but she's in the same room as me and seems fine. I still find her curled up sometimes but I think she's ok as she can be and always feels nicely warm. It would be so much easier if they'd stay tucked up in their blankets!
