Need new dog food brand

I prefer to have her on food that’s not all that processed like the dog food in the shop, but I don’t have the time or energy to make her home made raw food. I have had her on a subscription plan That’s supposed to be healthier it is just wet food, I think it’s chicken, vegetables and I think quinoa mixed in and a few different flavours. No dried food. I’ve been having issues with the supplier so I need a new one. Her current subscription is about £60. She’s a small dog though. TIA

Is that £60 a month? I have a Lab and a spaniel and it costs me around £30 in total to feed them both on high quality kibble. Made by Pero for our local farm shop and sold under their label.

£60 a month sounds like an absolute fortune to me - we pay about £30 for a mix of wet and dry food for our 18kg dog, and a lot of the dry is used by me as treats at work (dog walker) so would probably cost even less otherwise.

If you want a raw diet just look online & there are many places that do delivers for it. It’s all ready made up so it’s just a case of defrosting & serving & keeping what you don’t use in air tight container in the fridge. (80/10/10 will have everything you need in it)
My dog is a big dog & I spend anything from £60/£120 a month depending on what I buy as I also give him fruit, veg & vitamins ect.

Can’t recommend anything else though as I feed only raw.

If you look at allaboutdogfood Bella & Duke seems highly rated and about the same price. There are obviously cheaper ones though Wink

How much do you pay for a bag? Something like pero would work out at 1.20 a day each for our labs

And something like Billy & Margot would be cheaper still.

I feed Millie's Wolfheart and my terrier eats a lot for her size and she costs £15 a month to feed! A 5 Kg bag of the 70:30 range costs £31 and lasts her over two months.

There is no evidence at all that a raw diet is better than a good quality high protein dry. I mix 'real' food in with it - fruit and veg, the odd bit of meat etc and she has a lot of 'dead things' (ears, feet, fish skin too).

£32 a bag. Though it's Pero food it's under our farm shop label. It's the salmon and rice one.

How small? My small dog is 7kg and costs me £10-15 a month, and she is on good quality food because shite stuff nearly cost her her life (before she came to me).

Stop believing the marketing that everything you can buy in the shops is full of rubbish, and stop believing that kibble is the devil incarnate. There are many ranges in shops varying from cheap and nasty to good quality, and the same principal is true for kibble. To address concerns I've commonly geard as to why kibble is "bad" - no it isn't all sprayed with oil that goes rancid to make it palatable, and it's no more unnatural for dogs to eat food that has been cooked then it is for humans to eat food that has been cooked.

The advantages to buying a good retail branded food are that the food can be good quality, well bajlanced and consistent, and, yes, much cheaper than butternut or whatever equivalent you are on.

Actually read the labels on the back of the packaging, and take the time to find out what the additives actually mean.

Mine is on grain-free James Wellbeloved for small dogs, and, oddly enough, wet food from Aldi ,( a grain free wet 12 pack of trays) because the ingredients and ratios are almost identical to Lily's kitchen trays. She could be on either/or, it's just that I like her to crunch kibble for her teeth health and DH likes to give her wet food in the morning.

She used to be on Tails, and that suited her just fine too. They don't do the wet food grain free or she'd still be on that.
