My poor baby has had a lot of issues with her ears vet said they would never get any better she is constantly scratching and rubbing them some times to the point the bleed and no hair left on them now she has started to scratch all over. She has also started to pee in the house again which she hasn't done since being a pup also being sick and diarrhea not eating as much. She has also went to the toilet in her bed she has never done this. Doesnt play as much. My question is hard one IS IT TIME TO LET HER GO. Are we being selfish? Is she suffering. Any advice would be greatly appreciated she will be at the vets next week and having a feeling they will tell me it's time 😭

Itching can be a sign of kidney issues , in terms of whether it’s time the vet will guide you but ultimately you need to weigh of quality of life and are you being selfish by wanting her here ? I’ve been guilty of the latter and I regret it massively as in the end it was very traumatic for all of us

I have also been guilty of not acting soon enough and similarly regret it hugely. Sometime after they go, things become clear and you wonder how you could have been so indecisive.
I wouldn't rely on your vet to guide you. I would make the phone call first thing tomorrow and let her go. It sounds like it would be the kindest thing to do.
It's the hardest time but it sounds like the right thing to do.

ive found vets very reluctant to guide you when it’s time

there are various quality of life indexes and, for me, knowing my old girl was soiling herself, which she would have hated, was a sure sign her end was near

sending sympathy. Its an awful decision to have to make

I think it sounds like it is. I'm sorry Flowers

Also, don't go by what the vet does or doesn't say - they're not the ones living with your dog and they're not the ones who seem them everyday.
