Buy Prokolin from Amazon, its a gut binder. Suprised your vets never gave you that already.
Change to raw fed if you can too

HelenWheels · 29/08/2024 07:13

she had kaolin twice a day for a few days, this was probably prokolin

Feed raw. Tiny firm poo and zero "wind"

Memyaelf · 29/08/2024 08:20

Go for a raw diet. No snacks or human food inbetween. That’ll sort him out and keep his teeth clean

muddyford · 29/08/2024 17:42

Aviform dog diarrhoea medicine. Bought from Amazon. Absolutely brilliant.

sunsetsandboardwalks · 29/08/2024 18:09

Changing an unwell dog onto a raw diet really isn't a good idea 😩

EdithStourton · 29/08/2024 18:14

Probiotics can be very effective. I got some off Amazon.

loveyouradvice · 01/09/2024 00:15

Im another prokolin fan - absolute magic. Have used it whenever needed - perhaps every couple of years....

HelenWheels · 01/09/2024 04:30

Pumpkin! Draws out excessive water from the intestine and firms things up. The day after Halloween we go get left over pumpkins, boil and mash the flesh, freeze in bags. Our springer is a scavenger and he frequently gets upset stomach (think high pressure muck spreader) and pumpkin helps loads. Also dorwest tree bark (I think) helps. He’s old and starting with dementia so can’t muzzle him so manage best we can and vet supports the pumpkin approach! He’s also hypoallergenic and grain free as chicken upsets him too.

HelenWheels · 01/09/2024 07:28

would butternut squash be as good?

OP posts:
Mindymomo · 01/09/2024 07:37

Yes, butternut squash, pumpkin, courgettes, carrots are all good for fibre bulking 💩 depending on how big your dog is, if small 2 teaspoons in food each day, or big dog 2 tablespoons each day. I’ve always got plain tinned pumpkin in my cupboard, supermarkets don’t really sell it, but I get some on Amazon.

redboxer321 · 01/09/2024 08:10

Loads of products that can help. I use/have used:
Psyllium husk, Stoolrite (seaweed), tree barks slippery elm, marshmallow root, clay.
Ground bones, antlers, egg shells can help too.
As pp have said pumpkin is good but it will likely help most in dry powder form.
I wouldn't add veggies at this point.
Mine has woken up with the gurgles and needing to eat grass so I've given her a scoop of clay which will likely sort her out in an hour or two.
Healthful Pets website is a good place to find products.
Good quality probiotics will likely help too.

Cooked mashed sweet potatoes with a plain protein - turkey breast / white fish for a few days. Keep things plain and simple.

XiCi · 01/09/2024 08:59

YuMove digestive care probiotics are brilliant for this. Usually just 1 tablets and ddog is back to normal. I always make sure I have a stash of them in the house

HelenWheels · 05/09/2024 05:47

I think the Chappie did the trick
i bought pumpkin powder but she was better by then
