What do you feed your dog

We feed our current dog grain free kibble, our trainer had just suggested different dogs instead. I just looked it up and it not only works of at over £30 per week but it needs to be in the freezer. Our last dog was fed raw which was kept in the freezer and was a pain when we went away but also he was twice the size and it didn't cost that much. Does anyone have any recommendations

Mine is currently eating Butternutbox but needs more than the recommended amount in order to maintain weight. I also feed homecooked with supplements. I'd be happy to feed a good quality kibble if I was able to find one that suits my dog.

Honestly, feed what you know suits your dog and what suits your budget, as @Newpeep said above, it's your money, you're buying the food, not the trainer. It can take a bit of trial and error to find the right food. If you decide to feed kibble you could always add extra fruit, veg, tinned sardines, yoghurt etc for extra vitamins and minerals.

Thanks everyone I think we are going to stick with what we are feeding him, you are right his weight is fine, health is good coat is glossy etc. I don't want to mess it all up by fiddling with his diet

On Zooplus there are a few options:
if okay with beef then Rocco is highly rated as the next best thing to raw (wet tinned food).

wolf of wilderness do single protein wet tins in novel options which is good for allergy sufferers (goat, pork, duck etc). No grain, just meat and about 5% wild berries.

Lukullus is another good tinned food available on zooplus.

You then have Millie’s wolfheart wet and dry food which is highly rated.

But honestly I would ignore your trainer if it’s just a prejudice to kibble because at the end of the day, the dog being fed is best.

I think what you describe sounds perfect to be honest and at the end of the day they are a dog trainer not a nutritionist so I would take what they say with a pinch of salt and stick with what has been working for the dog and your budget.
