Alright, so we got lovely pup 12 days ago and she has literally slotted in so beautifully.
Since day one she has slept through the night, doesn't whine, happy to go in and out of her crate, toilet trained (either puppy pad by door or outside) and calm with the kids.
She does nip and chase maybe 2-3 times a day, but is easily distracted with toys.
She is only 9.5 weeks old, so I'm assuming she has just not yet come out of her shell properly yet? She is a Bichon x Shih Tzu and, if I'm honest, I was expecting this to be A LOT more like hard work.
Our last dog (Spaniel cross Poodle) was an utter terror and would 'zoomy' for hours every night, destroy all belongings, chew us red raw...
So, I'm wondering if we have all of this to come, or if maybe we're just super lucky and she will continue to be a dream?
When did your puppy reach 'peak puppy'? Are some puppies never gits? Please share experiences!

Our beagle was a dream as a puppy but an absolute horror as a teenager 😂

Our second pup was an angel from the day she came home.

First pup was pretty easy, about 2-4 yrs old became full on (collie) then settled down, second pup, Doberman was a nightmare tbh! Hard to house train, chewed everything - I swear didn’t come out of puppy stage till about 4 yrs old, newest pup, little Yorkshire terrier is only 16 weeks but like yours been a dream, house trained, goes in crate, good recall already, sleeps through night and lie ins!
I do think it just depends on the dog tbh!

Similar breed, did zooming at night but never really bit us or chewed furniture.

Some dogs are easier, you’ve got a cross of two generally very laid back low energy breeds, so it’s not a huge surprise that they are calmer than a spaniel cross

Our puppy was like this, he was such a sweetheart, only cried at night if he wanted the toilet, training was very easy, he never nipped and was generally the dream puppy.

He was a bit harder work as a teenager (from 8 months ish) but with consistency and training it was fine.
