Doggy Hayfever?

Is this a thing? Anybody have any experience of it? My dog's been sneezing quite a lot, he has runny eyes, his skin seems very dry, and he's shedding loads of hair. As soon as he goes outside he has a sneeze. These things started happening two or three weeks ago.

Yes it is. Take him to the vet, he'll be able to get anti histamines

Thanks. We were planning to ask at the vet's if he should be brought in, because he's an old boy and struggles to stand in the waiting room (and, of course, they're so bloody expensive). But will definitely ask them now about taking him in to be checked out.

My vet told me I could give my dog half a human anti histamine.

She didn't get hayfever but suffered with summer skin rashes

Yes, definitely a thing. I took our dog to the vet who said I could pay £80 for a prescription of antihistamines every 3 weeks or so, or give him 1 piriton a day (he was a very big dog). The vet said it had to be Piriton and not piriteze as the active ingredients were different.

My vet said don’t bother buying antihistamine off them go and get a one a day hay fever tablet from any supermarket own brand . They are the same thing so I so that now and no more hay fever

Useful to know that about the antihistamines. Thanks everybody.
