How much food per day for 8 month old cockapoo

Hi, my gorgeous cockapoo is 8 months old and weighs 11.3kg

Google says 140g per day but that doesn't feel like enough.

Any advice as to how much she should be fed? She always woolfs her dinner down in a split second and always seems hungry.

It depends on all sorts of things - what you're feeding her, her activity levels, her size, her health.

I go by what my dog looks like - you should easily be able to feel their ribs (and even see a couple during the lanky teenage stage), and they should have a visible tuck at the waist. If he's losing weight, I increase his food, and likewise if he seems to be putting it on.

We have only had her three weeks. She is a rehome. At the moment I am feeding her a small bit of butternut box pouch and a handful of chicken as well as some Iams.
Also a few treats throughout the day.

My spaniel has one pack (400G) of butternut box a day. No biscuits. No treats. She gets 90 minutes exercise a day. She’s is fairly good nick (shape).

Dogs do genuinely need far less food than you’d think! And a dog will always act like it’s hungry.

Quantity is going to vary so much, depending on the food you are giving her before even thinking about activity levels etc.

You need to feed based on the recommendations of the particular brand you are giving. Then adjust depending on whether dog is gaining or losing weight.

Butternut box calculates the amount of food your dog needs.

Personally I would only use this as a guide and then look at the appearance of my dog.

I would not be adding Iams as well as butternut as that will easily be too many calories

Weigh out the food and use that for treats through the day as well as meals.

Iams is terrible. Stick with the butternut box. It's high quality and your dog will not need much. If you want to feed more, add veg

Don’t forget that a dog of that age will need food for growth as well as activity levels. The package information is only guidance.
i remember mine seemed very hungry at that stage, and I increased her food which actually helped her behaviour.
It definitely settled down once the growth spurts were over.
