What is going on with my dog?

Our 9 year old sprocker spaniel won't stop humping his bed, leaking urine spots or constantly following one of us.

He is walked off lead for 1.5/2 hours daily, is on a good diet and has plenty of toys/stimulation.

He went to vets recently for a 6 month health check and all came back good. That was 5 weeks ago and ever since, I've had to stop him laying on our bed because wherever he lays he leaves a little yellow dot which smells like urine, he won't stop humping his bed (constantly) and he follows me around (he never did this before), he's under my feet, jumping up at me (was trained to not jump up from a puppy).

Does anyone recognise any of this? I've booked another vet trip for next week.

Was going to suggest vets... it could be smegma? My boy gets this discharge occasionally, usually on the back of the sofa cushions Hmm They can also get something called balanitis, an infection around the head of the penis.

Was going to say could he have a sore Willy

ToBeOrNotToBee · 24/04/2024 19:26

He might have a little infection in there.

I was going to say irritation or infection - I'm not sure I'd want to leave it another week though.

Are you sure it's urine and not his anal glands? That leaves a pungent fishy smell though..

elm26 · 24/04/2024 20:53

Thanks everyone. Will call vets tomorrow and see if I can get him seen asap although he's his usual bouncy, energetic self on walks etc but I'd rather get him checked sooner if it could be an infection.

@Countrygirlxo definitely not his anal glands, groomer did them not too long ago 🤮😂

There could also be a bitch in season nearby? That can send them a bit mad too.
