This is my wonderful adorable intelligent dobermann who is proof that rescuing works. He is a trained service dog (we didn't know that when we fostered him) who had been starved and left to live in a back garden with no shelter, thankfully a builder up a ladder at a neighbouring house seen him and contacted a rescue charity. They managed to get him and called me to foster him as I had breed experience, of course I fell in love and he's still with me, he's almost 15 now, he's been an absolute belter of a dog who has accepted every foster we've had and been 'daddy' to those pups who needed it. From his chip we could trace back his pedigree which was an incredibly high standard, he was trained to help a person with disabilities and it amazed us when he opened all our doors from both directions, took the washing out of the machine but the funniest was when we realised he was trying to help me up as I was lying sun bathing and then lay right beside me protecting me when I wouldn't get up. 🤣 He's over twelve years with us now, his special food and meds cost a small fortune but he's worth every cent. At one stage we had three dobermann, a whippet and two small collie/King Charles type crosses, all but one was a rescue, now we've just got the two smallies and the dobermann, it's a quieter house but still full of Doggy love.

Here’s my little smiler! He has his own MN username because he’s too outingly weird-looking to post under my usual one 😂

What a gorgeous gorgeous boy @Mudflaps
This is my darling 8 years old rescue Dobermann, still bearing the scars of his previous life. How could they? he so loves being a Good Boy!
After all he's been through, still full of love and trust.
