18 month old dog waking at night

We have an 18mo whippet who has started waking every 2 hours at night. Sometimes she just needs tucking back into bed but tonight she did a poo at 2am and woke up again to wee on the floor at 4.30. She had food at 5pm, then a 30 minute walk. I let her out at midnight for a last wee.

She used to sleep through the night in the crate but started waking hourly in the autumn. We gave up with the crate after Christmas because I was worried she'd hurt herself - throwing herself against the bars repeatedly. She went back to sleeping all night again when we put her bed on the sofa - until recently.

She's got very attention-seeking in the daytime too recently - started jumping up at the kitchen cupboards and now she's pacing the house whining if I don't go and sit with her. She gets lots of playtime, lots of attention, but it doesn't seem to be enough! There's no correlation between more exercise and more sleep. I've tried feeding more as sometimes she gets whiny when hungrier than usual but it hasn't made much difference. She isn't left for long periods and she gets plenty of cuddles and attention when I get back. No changes to her food since moving onto adult food in Oct. She doesn't like the wet weather (typical whippet!) which doesn't help.

I suspect this is just peak teenage behaviour playing out, but would really appreciate any advice on how to set better habits as she gets a bit older.

Could she be getting cold?

Possibly. She's stolen all my blankets but I don't know if she's managing to stay under them.

Could she be coming into season?

I would get her checked by a vet. Those are a lot of behavioural changes and I would want to rule out anything physical or medical before putting it down to the teenage stage.

She's been spayed so definitely not that.

She's been a bit calmer the last couple of days. The rain has finally stopped so she's had more time running in the garden - always an issue for a whippet!

Will get her seen by the vet soon too.
