How do you know your dog is dying?

Sorry for the morbid question but this is my first dog I've had as an adult so I'm not actually sure what to look out for. I don't think it's imminent or anything but the older our girl gets the more I think about that happening.

Our JRT will be 15 later this month and this year I feel like I've noticed her age. She's still quite sprightly and alert but she sleeps most of the day and is far slower to react when we get home etc. She's had a few accidents in the house the last couple of weeks/months and her breath suddenly smelt worse than usual for a few days but dentastix seem to be helping. She's just getting old.

She's such a wonderful party of our family and DH, the kids and I love her to bits. Hopefully she's still got a couple of years left in her but in case she doesn't, what do I look out for when the end is near?

Look up quality of life index HHHHHMM
Quite a few old age symptoms can be medicated for - like urinary incontinence and arthritis.
Get used to visiting your vet more often!
It's good to have an awareness but it sounds like your boy is ok for now.
