So we generally come on this site to get advice, talk about how to get our dogs to behave and not embarrass us, basically stop them being twat dogs.

Not often enough do we hear about their good points, although admittedly they can be few and far between, let’s be honest now 😬

Still, we obviously love the little sods, so let’s hear some positivity!

Mine is now 2 1/2 yr old mini poodle, and she has never chewed anything she shouldn’t have, has brilliant recall and makes us laugh with her daft goofy ways.

Over to you 🙂

Our beagle was super easy to toilet train, has pretty much always slept through the night (except as a tiny puppy or when ill) and is amazing with people - especially children and people with disabilities or who need a mobility aid of some kind!

I have two very prey-driven gundogs. They were off-lead within about 10 feet of me the other day when a muntjac came out of some nearby brambles and started to bound away. I told the dogs to stay and they did.

They make me laugh, and I am in awe of their powers of scent detection.

My Heinz 57 rescue mutt is a big goofy idiot. He's 2 and a half now and owning him for the last 2 years has had its ups and downs (2 Sky remotes and endless shoes and wallets chewed)

However I can say that
He has never once had an accident in the house. Even times when he was ill he let us know he urgently needed to go out
He has no separation anxiety at all and is happy to sleep on his own downstairs
He is super friendly and thinks all other people and dogs are his best mates. Even a trip to the vet is just a social outing and an opportunity for someone else to pet him in his mind.
He can be over enthusiastic and jump up but he seems to understand that he should not do this with small children and he always sits quietly and lets them stroke him (we get a lot of requests because he is a handsome boy) Afterwards he trots off with a bit of a spring in his step. He likes to be adored.

Had my dog from 12 weeks and she has never been a nippy biter. We’ve never had to endure nipped fingers or ankles like the land shark spaniels you hear about. She’s also never chewed a single piece of furniture or carpet. All very unexpected!

She is my shadow though and I love her with every fibre, but bloody hell I do need my space sometimes! At least she is a little snuggle bug 🥰

My DDog is only a youngster and he can be a bit reactive to other boy dogs and sometimes strangers, but... he's never chewed anything he shouldn't, he was happy chewing on toys and not us during puppy teething, he's slept downstairs all night long without a peep since he was 4 months old, he's really clever at learning stuff, his recall is amazing, and he's an absolute cuddle monster. He's a really good boy and I love him to bits.
