Toys and enrichment for terriers

For Christmas I’d like to get ddog something that really appeals to the ratter in him. It’s his favourite thing to shake things, shred things and chew things.

do you have any recommendations for interactive toys, things that move around that he can chase, catch, and ‘kill’
ideally something a bit durable. I obviously supervise but he can get into something in the time it takes me to lean over and pickup my coffee normally. Ive seen some balls that move, but they’ve got mixed reviews.
thank you!

Cat toys. Mouse on a string, catnip mice etc.

mine has a peas in a pod thing from Sainsbury’s and him and the cat spend ages hunting them and trying to steal them from each other.

mostly he likes stealing stuff to make us run after him

A flirt pole 🙂 My working terrier is broken as she just likes to love her toys and doesn’t destroy them 😂

@IngGenius - I like the idea, but mine will dissect the thing until the squeker is found & killed.

OP, what about little games like finding toys or treats around the room?
Mine love find the sausage ... I hide the things under the setee, pillows or even a washing basket with some doggy towels.
I also have doggy puzzles with treats they have to find and get the treats out!

Thanks I do lots of hiding games, we play tug and have a flirt pole for the garden. I was hoping for something he can play with himself like whilst I’m eating dinner, so he doesn’t always need that interaction with me. Some days we do extra long walks, training, scent games etc. But some days it’s a struggle for time for me to do more than the basics, and on those days would love for him to have something he enjoys and makes me feel less guilty about his ‘boring’ day. and I can just tell when he’s ‘ratting’ he’s just so happy and fulfilled.

i like the look of the tearables, but he won’t stop!

I feed mine her tea in a Toppl when I eat which keeps her engaged for the time it takes me to eat mine and also clear up :) The Lickimat bowls are good too.

Terriers are problem solvers so this kind of thing really taps into their natural skills as well as shredding (as above, mine loves to hunt but doesn't shred).
