Which dog bed for a larger breed

Have a (almost) 9 month old Weimaraner who, up until recently, had claimed our cord beam bag as his own.
It's seen him well through his toilet training and the worst of puppy hood.
But now it's just too 'used' , even he wouldn't sleep on it. So we've thrown it out.
He also has always had a duvet and a fleece flat bed.
But as it gets colder I think he'll love a bed he can snuggle in to.
DH thinks we should stick with the duvet or buy another bean bag but the beanbag cost £100 and there's not any realist way of cleaning it.
He does have a doggie bean bag that's cleanable but it's huge and he doesn't like it that much.
So to my question, which beds do your larger dogs love

Expensive but my pointer loves his Tuffies bed. Keeps the draughts out and is conpletely washable.

I've just looked at their website and they're certainly not cheap when I look at the size we'd need.
But do the covers wash well?
Thinking it might make a good longer term prospect if it's washable

You can get beanbags with washable covers - would that work if that's what he likes?

I'm impressed he hasn't eaten it tbh 😂

We got him a pet one with washable cover, he didn't like the feel of it so now it's our garden one for the summer. Can lie on it and read in the sun!

We spent around £150 on a topology bed from omlet for our springer. It's been the best money ever spent. We were replacing her bed every 6 to 12 months either due to smell or because of sagging after being in the washing machine. The beds are really built to last, have a memory foam base so no sagging and easy to take the covers off to wash. They are more expensive than your standard bed but we have saved loads not having to keep buying new beds. I definitely recommend them.

Our large lurcher has a Bunty raised bed with a duvet on it. Being raised up it keeps him away from the cold floor, and he can dig/snuggle into the duvet to his hearts desire.
Bonus is the duvet can be easily washed and the raised bed just brushed off.
It's not too costly for the size (£40 for the large).

Knuffelwuff beds are great. I have two very large dogs and I have the XL orthopedic bed which fits my two very large dogs comfortably. It cost about £150 and is very good quality with removable covers. Shipping is very quick.

I also have tuffies beds and they are indestructible and the covers wash very well

Our rescue american bulldog baby has claimed one of our large beanbags, he loves to snuggle right into it. We've put an old duvet over it and have another to use on rotation.

100%!

We had one of these for years for our big mastiff and he loved it. The covers come off and the whole bed never lost fluff or shape etc. Not cheap but the best thing we bought him ☺️

Our pointer loves her cave bed from Collared Creatures!

I have 2 waterproof Tuffies nests with washable fleece covers inside. Never smell, easy to clean, hair doesn’t stick to them, sides don’t collapse when they rest their heads on them. Had them a good few years and they’re good as new.
They are an expensive purchase but I’ve gone through so many £50-£100 beds that didn’t last.

We use a childs cotbed mattress, much more cushion than a lot of dog beds, plenty of room for dog to spread out. We then put a mattress protector and sheet on it so its easily washed.

Our deerhound sleeps on a sleepezsee bed that we got to review for mumsnet about 5 years ago. Our previous lurcher loved it and the deerhound loves it too. We got a travel version for the car which is great too. What I like about it is that it's memory foam and good for boney dogs who easily get sores or hard skin otherwise. The cover comes off easily for washing but tbh it hoovers really easily so we don't do that often.

Another vote for Tuffies. The bed inner is very robust (ours is 6 or 7 years old and only just starting to show signs of wear). You can spray is down with disinfectant if it gets a bit grubby and really wash it off. The covers are hard-wearing and wash well and you can buy replacements. Yes, it's a big outlay but ours have saved us money in the long run.

After seeing our friends large German Shepherds on their beds and loving them, we got the same for ours - WEASHUME Calming Dog Bed 50/70/85/100 Plush Donut. Don't know about the calming ! But a nice comfy bed .
