Pup has just eaten the fat I'd just take off a pork joint.
Now panicking.
He's almost eight moths and has stolen all sorts so we know he has a strong stomach but how worried should we be?

I was very confused there because my dogs have eaten pork and no issues, obviously not in huge quantities but even so. Yep really unhelpful advice re the pork.

@drivinmecrazy so glad your dog is ok, hope you are after that awful fright, sounds like fab insurance, they are so fast though aren’t they? Just finished a Sunday roast and trying to train a spaniel that the Yorkshire puddings and beef leftovers ( half a side of beef) are not a countertop dog buffet has been interesting.

@drivinmecrazy it's good to know your pup is fine , I echo pp , pork is fine for dogs provided it's not excessive amounts.

@JSmithIloveyou is scaremongering, yes I accept that some dogs may be more sensitive to pork ( and all other foods) some pork fat is not a emergency.

@Jenzine, it's nice to see a sensible post regarding what dogs can eat .
Many years ago I used half grapes or carrot as a training aid for my German shepherd x , and while I wouldn't recommend it for all dogs mine lived a long healthy life until her arthritis got to bad to treat aged 18.5

In no ddog manual does it OK eating a flop flop. Thankfully our husky was OK!

@Foggyfoggyfoggy ha ha ha so true.
I have also never seen one that says its OK for dogs to eat whole oranges , it was the only food my lab x ever stole . Every now and then we would give him one and he take it outside and play with it for ages, throwing it around 'losing' it then finding it and pouncing on it ( I think he was part cat ) .
He would eventually eat it , skin, pips and all . When he came back in he would be sticky and have orange breath .
I just had to be a bit vigilant when he needed a poo , there wasn't much warning !
