Probiotics

We have a 10 month old spaniel who is currently fed Royal canin puppy. We would prefer him to be on another food but he has quite a sensitive stomach and attempts to slowly wean him over have not been successful and resulted in sloppy poos. Ideally we wanted him to have Millie's wolfheart but this hasn't suited him.

He has had previous treatment for campilobaacter and this helped massively but any deviation to another food seems to set off the issues again.

We are not going to raw feed him.
Has anyone tried a probiotic to add to the daily food - has it helped? Is there one people can recommend?

Thank you

My dog has the Yumove digestive supplement . He has a very sensitive stomach but has lovely poos on his current food which is Naturediet wet . I think the food has more impact on his bowels than the supplement .

We use Symbiotic D c probiotic and probiotic daily for our 7 month pup.

We get pro-kolin for our lab. It's a paste and in a tube. We get it the cheapest from our local chemist or you can get it from your vet or Amazon

if your dog won't take this try the granules www.protexin.com/bio-premium/p24

We used Canigest for our lab which worked very quickly. He was also on Royal Canin as a puppy but had very runny smelly poo. We slowly switched him to Forthglade Cold Pressed which has done the trick!

Purina do one that we originally got from the vet but I've now got online. You sprinkle it on the food. Ddog loves it and her poo is solid now. (Sorry if TMI!)

We use Canigest. She has a small amount in each meal and it really helps.

Sorry for not replying until now. Thank you all for your advice. I'll look into these options for him.

I just had a look at forthglade but it's on the pricier end. I'm happy to try different brands to get the right fit for him and slowly try and introduce them but it's an expensive game if they don't work out!
Any other suggestions welcome though Smile

If you are going to use, choose one with both pre and probiotic. I always keep pro kolin paste for the times pup gets the runs or upset tum, this is given 3 or 5 days not every day.

I just feed kefir every morning with breakfast.
