My 14 month old cocker spaniel has recently moved from puppy kibble to adult. She was never a massive fan but seems even less enthused now. I tend to mix it with something wet which makes it slightly more appealing - especially if it's chicken! I've tried all these ideas of yoghurt, blueberries, pumpkin etc but she's really not bothered.

Can you tell me what your dogs eat? Has anyone ditched the kibble altogether?!

My beagle is really food-orientated but he's never been a fan of just plain kibble, even if we mix up the flavours. He will eat it but only if we turn it into a game - scatter-feeding, for example.

We feed Harringtons and have done for four years without an issue. He gets a small handful of scatter-fed biscuits morning and evening, and then his main meal is another small handful of biscuits, 100g of wet food and a crushed weetabix. We bulk-buy his wet food and rotate between about six different flavours so he doesn't get bored.

Very occasionally I'll sub out the wet food for something else - tuna in spring water, sardines in tomato sauce, leftover roast chicken, an egg etc. but I don't do it very often as his normal food suits him fine.

Another on Millie's Wolfheart here, I put a liver powder (it's called Barker and Barker or something on amazon) over it and a little bit of boiled water over the top to make a gravy and they love it, with some fish oil on the top. They get chicken quarters and minced rabbit with the fur and bone a couple of times a week too.

We use dry food, with wet food mixed in. Then they always have something on top like chicken, steak or scrambled egg and some veg. They wouldn’t eat just dry food, can’t blame them really.

I bought some bone broth powder which is the best thing.

You mix with boiling water, like stock. Let it cool then pour onto kibble. You can also freeze it to make dog ice cubes, which weirdly mine loves on his food. My local store does chicken, beef, lamb and venison powders so pick one your dog likes and might be worth a try.

Way cheaper than wet food, adds flavour and convenient.
