Walk dogs daily, regardless of weather, to an extent of course.

Clean up dog mess from garden.

Send updates/photos etc.

Keep house in decent condition - I.e, the way it was before.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Already have this running in AIBU.

TIA

I run a dogwalking and sitting business.

We clearly set out what we will do in our contract - and it is discussed with each individual client as to what they want.

We would expect to walk or exercise dogs daily usually twice
Pick up all poo
Clean all bowls daily
Clean dog beds and area dog sleeps daily
Dogs have daily general check overs
Clean the dog if required eg muddy walks etc
Create mental stimulation for the dog - whatever they prefer

Look after the house water plants feed other animals etc
Clean the house
Have been known to get the shop in for when the owner returns back

The dogs will not be left for longer than 2 hours a day and in some cases they will not be left at all.

We have dog cams on all our walkers so videos will be sent or they can log into see the dogs walks.

Photos will be uploaded frequently throughout the day

If the owners have dogcams in their houses they will be on the whole time we are there

We are fully insured

@DogwalkingDot wow, that all sounds amazing and on a completely different level to the service we have received! Can I ask what your day rate would be?

Of course! I run a dog-sitting business and just finished a sit on Saturday.

All the dogs got one walk a day (at the owners request - we can offer more).
The garden was poo-picked daily and last thing before I left.
Beds were stripped before leaving.
House was cleaned before leaving - all floors swept/vacuumed, sides cleaned, dishes done etc.
Dog stuff dried and put back properly.
Water topped up 3-4 times a day.
Owners sent daily updates including photos.
Dogs (and cat) fed as per the owners request.
Dogs are bathed if muddy or if the owner requests them to be.
Milk and bread brought in for owners as they weren't returning until almost midnight.

Any issues were fed back to the owners immediately.

@cinnamonfrenchtoast It would be fantastic if you lived near me! 😁 Reading these posts from rl sitters is really solidifying my annoyance.

Not a dog sitter but a dog walker. I also pet sit cats and other small animals. The things you listed are the bare minimum that I would ensure are done with each client really!

I had a horrendous experience with a dog sitter sitting my 5 month pup for a weekend. I didnt know until the day before but the girl was partially sighted. She asked if she could bring her guide dog which i had no issues with.
On return my bed was disgusting, covered in hair and blood - her dog clearly in seadon. Living room a mess where my pup had pooed ( fine as was still training) but the poos had been picked up but floor not cleaned so brown marks everywhere. I had left all the cleaning stuff out for her. I looked on the camera i had to see what appeared to be her dad in my house a lot and my pup often alone in crate during the day. Later discovered she had baked a cake in the slow cooker andnot cleaned it. NEVER AGAIN
