Dogs and wasp stings

Sniffing around the base of a tree, our dog stirred up some wasps and got stung a few times. A passing dog owner offered us a couple of wipes from her doggie medkit, which really seemed to help. They were unlabelled so we don't know exactly what they were. Anyone know what they might have been or can recommend something that helps soothe wasp stings?

if they work for humans too please let me know! Just been stung by a wasp under my toe. So painful

Crush up an anti histamine (eg Piriton) and add to the dog’s food.

A vet recommended this to my neighbour after her dog got stung on his face.

You can give dogs Piriton (NOT piriteze). You can look online for the dose but personally I would ring the vet to make sure you're giving the right thing if your dog hasn't taken it before.

Grab some sachets of vinegar when you're next at the pub. Vinegar neutralises the sting. Or lemon juice but you can't 'liberate' a sachet of that whilst eating out!

The wipes were likely allergy relief or “itch relief” wipes containing anti histamine.

Thanks to all. We do use piriton if she has spider bites when we get home. I'll check out anti-histamine wipes that we can carry around with us. 👍🏻
