Vet bed - smell

Hello all
so our lovely puppy is settling in nicely but I’m finding the smell really strong! It’s mostly from her vet bed which was all scented up with mum and siblings smell. How long do you leave it before you wash it? I don’t want to take away a source of comfort for her but phew!! It’s a belter. Intense puppy/dog smell.

I’d buy her another, start putting her things in the new bed and as soon as she takes to new bed get rid of old one

Just wash it. Sounds like she’s settling, just put her favourite toys back in once it’s clean & dry.

Vetbed is fabulous stuff. It washes and dries (quickly) really well. Never get rid of it. The fury top is stay dry, so it’s brilliant for bitches giving birth, sick dogs etc and it’s very comfortable. They only need ‘mum’s smell’ for the first two or three day, so just machine wash it!

To prevent a musty smell build-up over time on even clean beds and towels, use a pet bed wash. My cupboard with dog linen in now smells as fresh and clean as my airing cupboard. It's dear but worth every penny.

I’ve never needed a special washing product. I just pop them in the washing machine with my usual detergent and it’s all good!

Same here. Just a regular normal bio wash, even better if you can dry outdoors.
