Relief for laryngeal paralysis

My elderly dog has had this since he wasn't so elderly but this year its got worse.*

Obviously keeping a close eye on him in the heat but he's had a bad morning with it and it was clearly making him unhappy. Managed to soothe it by getting him to have some water but does anyone have any advice for providing relief of symptoms?

.

*Vet is aware and unconcerned. (Recently found out it can be operated on which might be a possibility if the vet think he can cope with surgery at his age.)

I would go back to the vet. I belief there are some medications that can help. I am not a vet but think anti inflammatory drugs can help

Remove your dogs collar keep them as cool as possible I guess are the only short term things you can do.

Thank you, I will try and get him seen tomorrow and ask about medication.

My poor boy has managed a peaceful snooze with the fan on him but I've not seen it as persistent as this before and he kept coming up for comfort. He's clearly fed up :(
