Doseypup is 12 weeks, show cocker spaniel, and is getting very fluffy around her feet and legs, the rest of her is just cute puppy fluff. When do I start booking her in for grooming? Would a groomer just tidy her legs and feet?

A good groomer will just give her a little wash and dry at first, to slowly get her used to being groomed. Maybe a little tidy up if she's happy enough.

She may then slowly work up, over subsequent sessions, to trimming her.

Yes they need building up to it, our Groomer did puppy university! They go for 5 sessions increasing in time and finishing with a full Groom. He was 15 weeks when we started (covid and Christmas made it a bit later). He's a cockerpoo.

Now!

They need to go as early as possible to get them used to the noises and the process of being groomed. All good groomers will do a puppy package which is basically a series of desensitisation sessions.

Yes, most groomers do a puppy package where they are slowly built up to a puppy cut over a number of visits

Now if you can. Just a tidy up.

My pup needed hand stripping and I really struggled to find someone where I live to do it so she was 8 months and well overdue! The groomer did a meet and greet first, with toys and food and had fun with her in the garden then had her back to strip a week later. She did a partial strip first time and she does a mini clip for puppies as it's not too long for them to cope with.

With any pup I'd also suggest getting yourself a decent brush and brush your pup yourself every day. It's great for bonding but also makes life a bit easier for the groomer as well in the long run.
Keep the show cocker coat well brushed always, right down to the skin, so you can avoid having them clipped.

Yes get booked in now, my groomer does puppy grooms from 12 weeks of age, we book every 4 weeks for a bath and fun, he has had two sessions, so has been bathed, blowdried, feet trimmed on the 1st session, bathed, blow dried and face trimmed, claws cut and a light sanitary trim on the second, he loves going as he gets fed lots of yummy treats and gets spoilt rotten.

I started combing/brushing mine the first night we got him, sonhe now expects this every night butvits part of his night settlingvroutine now so comes straight over and let's me do it. I shave him myself, started out short sessions with justvthe buzzy sound nearby and on my skin so hew knew it wouldn't hurt, lots of positive voice/encouragenent.
Nailswise, again startes making sure hebcould tolerate me stroking and touching his paws early on. showing him clipping my own nails and then making the clippy sound near his nails and praising him for sitting still. Now let's me do any grooming so was worth getting him used to it.
