Ticks?!

I have two dogs who have routine flea annd tick treatment and groomed daily. In the last week EVERY time I’ve groomed one of them I’ve found a tick, not found one on the other ever.
We check them carefully when we get back from walks but I think they may be too small still as don’t find them then when grooming every morning they seem to appear! (the one that’s prone to them has a thick undercoat which isn’t helping!)

Has anyone ever had a dog that seems especially prone to them and is there a spray that works that we could douse him with before/after to get them to leave the poor chap alone?

Our tick count is down on this time last year. Just one so far.

My pup loves long grass and rolls around in it. I haven't found any ticks but also haven't been specifically looking. Where do you mostly find them on the dog? Is it more a problem in the countryside where there are sheep and/or deer? Her flea and wormer also kills ticks, but obviously not instantaneously, and she sleeps at the end of my bed 😬

Run your hands over your dog when you get back from your walk. Trying to feel under the fur , part the fur if they are long haired. Check their paws, and in between paw pads. I comb mine as well - which she hates!

I live rural. Get a tick medication from your vet. Also don't forget to get a tick spray for yourself. They are disgusting but part of walks.

Thank you @MissyB1 that's really helpful, would not have thought to look between paw pads!
