Is there some sort of spray to stop dogs peeing on furniture?

My dog is a rescue we've had for three and a half years, he's about 8 now. We got him and had him house trained really quickly.
Last year I looked after a friend's dog at my house for 3 weeks. Her dog peed on my floors and on my furniture. Now my dog keeps doing it and I cannot seem to get him to stop! I've tried going back to basics of housetraining too.
Is there anything I can spray around that will help him stop? Something that smells awful to dogs or something similar? I use cleaning sprays that claim to neutralise odours etc. Im constantly scrubbing and using puppy pads. Im sure my house smells now too. Its really getting me down.

Did you use an enzyme cleaner on the spot that got peed on? Any other cleaner will not be sufficient, so will leave scent there encouraging the dog to pee again.

There is an enzyme spray that gets rid of the scent your dog is still picking up. Your dog can still pick up the scent even after you have cleaned no matter how thoroughly.

Ive used it for my dog who scent marks. He’s a rescue too. It does work. Good Luck! Post back if it works.

Are you using a proper pet cleanser?

Unfortunately pee is quick to soak through into underlay and into the framework of furniture, so unless you clean it right away, it's often impossible to get the smell out completely.

Once it hits the underlay and soaks into the floorboards, you may find you have no choice but to rip everything up and start again.

luckily i have vinyl flooring so nothing soaks through.
Yes I've used that exact cleaner you've shown but it hasnt stopped him.

You may need to break the habit by going back to toilet training him like a puppy.

Has your dog been doing this for a year or just started recently?

I would get a vet check to rule out any issues is there is a change in toileting behaviour especially in an older dog.

You say you are using puppy pads?

They have a chemical added to them to encourage dogs to wee. I would remove them from inside.

If you house is smelling to you then you will need to remove the flooring or furnishings etc as it will smell mega to your dog. The enzymatic cleaner is pretty awesome so you should not still have an urine smell remaining if cleaned thrououghly.

Forget about normal household urine cleaners that you get from the pet store!

Use kennel cleaner. Place in a spray bottle and spray furniture & floors generously. Let it soak in for a bit and then either use a damp cloth or steam mop to wash down. Make sure you rise the cloth well in water with kennel cleaner or bio washing powder several times.

Anything that can go into the washing machine wash with kennel cleaner as detergent.

Then reinforce house training and rigorous cleaning routine.

Enzyme cleaner mentioned upthread and then spray with diluted clove oil (5/6 drops in 500ml water)
