Mud Mummy/Daddy are they worth it?

I have an elderly greyhound who is now struggling to get out of the bath after he needs a wash. I was considering hosing him down in the garden next time he rolls in something, but there's no way he would tolerate cold water from the garden tap! I've been looking on the mud daddy website as I can see you can use warm water with them. Does anyone use one and are they worth the money? If so, which model would you recommend for a larger dog?

Thanks!

If you want to save yourself ££'s, just look for hand pump pressure washers, marketed at cleaning your bikes and cars etc. That's essentially all the mud daddy is, just a branded version cleverly marketed at dog owners so they charge a fortune for it.

I got one for £9 at Go Outdoors (big yellow 8L one) and we use it on our spaniel nearly every day, its the best purchase I've ever made. Brilliantly made, never leaks, easy to use and perfect pressure for a dog washer.

I fill it with hot water, take it with us in the boot and by the time we're finished it's the perfect temperature to clean her off before putting her in the car.

We have one and got our money's worth out of it with the last dog who was a much magnet.

As PP has suggested you can get cheaper ones, but I'm not sure if they have a brush attachment (which I think is required).

I have a rechargeable camping shower from Amazon which I use for washing the dogs and it is way better as I can do three buckets of warm water, one with the shampoo in already and then just dunk it in in turn. If we are going walking somewhere muddy I have a water container and take a flask of boiling water to make it nice and warm and can do the dog, 3 sets of wellies and a bike that way. Mine was £30

Thanks, I had a feeling there would be a cheaper alternative which would do the job!

Thanks to this thread I just realised that instead of paying to get a hot water tap outside I can actually get a cheap connector to fit to the utility sink mixer tap...

No idea why I hadn't thought of that before (utility sink is right next to the back door but I guess I hadn't thought of connecting a mixer tap to a hose) Blush

That's a decent amount saved!

Yes we love our mud daddy. So useful. We like how dots insulated so it can be filled before a walk. We also have a motorhome so it's really handy for when we are all away in that
