Looking for some advice, we have an 8 week old pup and she's the cutest thing in the world. As expected her teeth are like little razors. Does anyone know the best way to deal with biting? I'm covered in cuts and it's making me bleed frequently. She goes on snapping rampages every so often where she bites anything in front of her. We got our other dog when he was 4 months old and he's a larger breed, never really had this problem assuming because he was a little older, he'd mouth us but never bit and came out of it really quickly. Sleep - lots of sleep.

In a lot of ways you do just have to tolerate it - yes, teach them not to (we replaced our fingers etc. with a toy) and stop engaging with them if it gets too much, but every single puppy I've ever met has been like this and they've all grown out of it regardless of what training the owner has used.

Have a toy on you all the time. Something long and soft. Shove in pup's gob when he's using it inappropriately and have a bit of a game. Keep doing it. It gets better when they get their adult teeth - it doesn't stop but it changes to more mouthing and gradually phases out.

We had a few occasions where we couldn't get our pup to stop so we removed ourselves to the other side of a barrier and shoved the toy in through the bars.

Husband lived in wellies for the first few months and we were careful not to wear good clothes. My coats, as they are the long dramatic type, were removed before I came into the house after work!

I have a 10 week old pup and he is a blur of fluff and teeth, he gets a lot worse when tired/over stimulated so off to the crate he goes for a good sleep, if he isn't due a nap then I swap hand for toy, if he continues we stop playing and ignore, it's very hard though but I know it's just phase and he will grow out of it eventually.

I think we need photos of the bogey little puppy!

Routine is important with puppies , really important . We always use a A A noise with them and try not to snatch your hand away upwards quickly , this will just make them try to quickly follow the hand upwards and jumping up to reach it .
I do agree we need a photo .😉

We are In the same position. Older dog (GR) is 2.5 and got him at 4 months. New puppy - cockerdile - at 10 weeks. She’s a tazmanian devil at times. However, she does sleep a lot (at the moment) which helps. She also plays with our lovely older dog to let off steam. We have solid rubber ring toy for her to bite on and knotted socks! Teething gel has been a game changer when she is really wild.
