I need a new dried food that won't break the bank for my dog. He's had Wolfworthy but not super keen - sample pouches were gobbled up but the big bag was rejected.
I'm on all about dog food which is nutrition focused but what have your dogs gobbled up happily? Tried all the supermarket grain free offerings -Harringtonsnand the Aldi and Lidl ones. Interestingly he loved the Aldi one out of our friend's dog bowl but not when I bought it !! Maybe he's conning me. Happy on Butchers wet food after trying all sorts but I like to leave dry food down too.
Thanks all! Pic for the cuteness

I used to feed Dr Johns Silver - my fussy greyhound used to eat it but I have since discovered that Aldi's own brand works out cheaper so switched to that.

My dog has recently been having dry food from Tails.com - they did a really good offer of (something like) 80% off the first box and 40% off the second.
Each box contained a sack of dog food supposed to last a month - in reality it lasts over 2 months, plus an assortment of bags of nice treats like duck, lamb, beef nibbles.
I found it really good value with the discount. Without the discount it is expensive.
My dog loves it.

Some dogs do seem to get a bit bored if they're always on the same food. Mine gets 1kg bags of Wolf of Wilderness and never the same flavour two bags running. Seems to work for us but he's still a bit of a grazer.

I moved mine to butternut box and it's the first time he's ever finished his meal in one go. He'd have nibbled at his old good throughout the day and wasn't that fussed.

Whatever is on your plate op...
*if they had their way!

We feed Arden Grange but mix in some forthglade or sweet potato, fish, yoghurt etc etc. the AG is the main component but the rest keeps her interested.

Sapin · 28/02/2023 12:38

Platinum. You can only buy online I think but my fussy dog loves it. It’s semi moist which I think makes her think it’s treats.

Ours have dry food with a bit of wet mixed in with water. The gannet is on dry Harringtons, the hyper-sensitive Street dog is on grain free anti-itch stuff from Tails. The wet food is Wolf of Wilderness - the adult soft pouches. I get that from Bitiba in bulk.

Yep, that's my dog!!!

IngGenius · 28/02/2023 13:18

Please please dont take offence and whispering it very quietly.

But your dog is looking a good weight (slightly overweight) so I would not be leaving dry food down. Just give him the wet food. He is probably not fussy just not very hungry.

He is very cute Smile

My Westie is happy on Dr John Titanium

uncomfortablydumb53 · 28/02/2023 13:59

With Forthglade wet food

Fat shamed ! <clutches pearls > 🤣🤣. No offence taken. He does look a bit porky on there !
If I can find stuff he'll eat I'll be instructing everyone to cut back on treats - teen DS, looking at you and feeding him cheese ....

Forthglade doggy dinners.

I find the pedigree wet food rather yummy.

I had exactly the same experience with Wolfworthy! I switched to Millie’s Wolfheart and it’s met with gusto by my bedlington x whippet. It agrees with her slightly sensitive tummy better than Wolfworthy too, and the bags are cheaper and last longer. I have to say though, I’ll often add a teaspoon of salmon oil/scrambled egg/veggies/sardine-initially I was determined not to add extras but actually I only use a bit of what we have in the fridge (and keep the dry food measured out at the lower end of the feeding recommendation). It’s so nice to see her enjoying her food. Although if you ask her I’m sure she’d tell you she’s still starving 😂.
