How do you make dry dog food more interesting

So our dog has dry dog food 3 times a day. How can I make it more interesting for him. If I add veg he picks it out! Can I add gravy? Did this once and he loved it but not sure if gravy is good for them.

I use it in games, which is a different way to make it interesting. Hiding the pellets round the house or in the garden, or using them on/under objects - something to get the brain going. Not every meal, breakfast is always in the bowl, but the evening portion is fair game for training and activities.

My lab has never been a big eater…he’s not particularly bothered about food (until someone has cheese) but he does love sardines….I just put a teaspoon on top of his food and he loves it!

The smell isn’t the best though….

You don't need to jazz it up, he's a dog. Asked vet this very question yesterday as DH has been putting banana and blueberries in Ddogs breakfast kibble as he thought it would 'jazz it up'. Vet said dogs aren't worried about 'All that Jazz!!'

The vet clearly hasn't met my dog. He will happily eat his food for weeks, then decide he is fed up of it and will literally starve for DAYS rather than eat it. Put down something else and it's hoovered down his throat.

I read once that if you put warm water in kibble and mix it up to soften it a bit then it can set like concrete on their teeth when they chew it and so is bad for their teeth.
Eating the same food every single day is going to be boring as hell, no one would ever do it themselves so while you might not need to I think it's nice to vary it up a bit.

We add tuna/ ham/ veg/ cheese/ scrambled egg/ blueberries- not all at the same time obviously- but our pug loves it. Saying that I could probably add bits of cardboard and he’d probably eat it 🤦🏻‍♀️
