How often is too often to contact a breeder

So I am hopefully getting a puppy, litter born earlier this month. I want to keep in regular contact with the breeder but not become a pain in the butt. How often is ok to ask for updates/pics?

Congratulations!

We never had to get in touch with ours, he sent us messages every 2-3 days with photos and updates.

Ah I might ask for more picture soon then, it’s their first time breeding so I think it is a learning curve for all of us!!

About once week/ 10 days seems to be pretty normal - our last puppy's breeder did a video approximately weekly, and the breeder of the previous dog was in touch maybe every 10-14 days.

Personally I really liked having a longish, detailed video now and then rather than a few pictures every few days.

Thank you. I don’t want to pester but don’t want to seem disinterested either ….

My breeder sent me a picture or video just about every day. Totally unexpected but I loved it because I wouldn't want to bombard them myself but at the same time would be desperate for updates. 🤣 my pup is 6 months now and I send the breeder a couple of pictures and an update either weekly or fortnightly. She loves to hear how she's getting on.

It’s so hard and seems it varies a lot!

I receive a daily photo and video, which I very much appreciate! They grow so quick, it's fab to see my pup's progress. In love already!

Our breeders set up what’s app groups for buyers and gave us frequent updates!

Any decent breeder should be happy to provide updates and answer any questions.

Thank you. They are very responsive to all my questions and I have no worries over them being responsible, both dam and sire have been hip tested and pups will be micro chipped, wormed and stared vaccines before being homed. They also come recommended from the breed association. I just don’t want to annoy them or seem disinterested. It’s a tough balance
