After some advice on leaving my dog. I’ve got a nearly 9 month old Border Terrier pup. She’s an absolute dream. The perfect dog. When we got her I wasn’t working and hadn’t planned to return any time soon. However things have changed and I’ve gone back part time. At the moment I do Monday and Tuesday and I leave the house for the school run about 8.40 and get home at 1.55. On Mondays my parents come and take her for a walk about midday and then they stay with her til I get him. Tuesdays she is going to my friends and their dogs for a few hours including a long walk. I don’t work Wednesdays. Then Thursday and Fridays I leave at 8.40 and get home at 12.40. And then I take her out for an hour and I’m home rest of the day.
However I do want to work longer but also want to make sure my dog is happy and ok and am wondering what to do. Could I leave at 8.30 and then return at lunch time, take her for an hours walk and then leave the house and go back to work? My work is 5 mins drive away. But it’s a school so am limited. Would always be home after the school run. Just after some advice on what to do.

Personally I wouldn't increase hours. Being able to take him for a walk at lunchtime is fine but what he will really miss out on is company.

Pay for daycare or hire a dog walker to come in a couple of times a day. 8.30 - 3.30pm is too long for a 9mo pup to be left with just one break I think.

I'm a dog walker and I do twice-daily visits for a teacher who has a 9mo Labrador. She walks him before work and leaves around 8.30am. I do 2x30 minutes at about 11am and 1.30pm, and she's back home by 3.30pm.

The dog has a Kong after his first walk with me and seems very happy and settled.

Ok that’s a good option. Yes I did think a walk is fine but I don’t want her to be lonely. Where abouts are you haha. I wouldn’t increase until September either. I also work in a school so this is only term time and I get longer holidays too. I’ll have a look into some options.
