Anxiety in the house

We rescued our lovely lurcher four years ago and he has been a dream. He has been the most relaxed chilled out dog ever. Until a few feels ago. We can't put our finger on anything that has changed to make this happen but he is crying during the day. Even when we are here he is crying and pacing up and down. At night time he settles and crashes out but I'm not sure If this is just because he is exhausted. He is losing so much sleep as he usually sleeps all day. Has anyone experienced this with their dog please ? I really want to help hiM it's so awful seeing hiM so unhappy 🙁

Poor wee man. Any neighbours who may have set up a rodent/ cat scarer nearby , or any new devices that might be emitting a horrible noise which only be abd teenagers can hear?
Any roadworks or building works nearby ( could be a distance away) ?
Anyone in the house stressed or perhaps ill?
Any pain in his feet or limbs?

So sorry for your boy, must be horrible for him. Someone who has seen this before will hopefully come along.

Thank you I hadn't thought of any noises I will ask the neighbours. Next door have got a new puppy which does make a bit of noise but I can't see that this is bothering him as when he is asleep he doesn't bat an eyelid at this noise.

I’d be investigating to see if there was any pain tbh.

He needs to see a vet as it sounds like he's in pain.

Fireworks have completely unsettled my dog. It normally takes her a couple of weeks to get over them. It's not exactly the same thing but she is so sensitive that she remembers a spot on a path where she heard a firework a couple of weeks ago and still gets very nervous, lies down and refuses walk any further. The anxiety is starting to fade, but being cheerful and not too sympathetic helps .
