Bloody fireworks!

We have a 9 month old dog and this is his first 'firework season'. He's very distressed by firework noise and stands at the patio doors barking. The other night he wouldn't go out for a pee because of the fireworks and held it in for hours.

What can we do to stop him being so distressed by the fireworks?

It was much easier to address when it was just a couple of nights a year. Now the fireworks season has morphed into the possibility of fireworks on any given night between mid-October and mid-January it's far more difficult.

Or any other day! MIne wasn't at all bothered until this year when some raving idiots scared the entire neighbourhood by setting off (illegal) fireworks right outside our homes at 2am. That scared the beejeezuz out of the humans who were all asleep, never mind scaring the animals. Now he'd developed a fear.

I agree, it's the drawn out unknown times that are the problem.

We have one organised event here and as they publish their times I can plan when to take him out for a pee and also know when it will end.

But for the ad hoc loud bangs from anyone deciding to let them off in their gardens it's a real problem.
