Goes by weight for anesthetic. I was recently quoted 160. Medium bull whippet, cant remember weight

Do check your insurance as some do cover dental , ours does . My dog had a clean and one tooth removed under anaesthetic about 18 months ago aged 11 , since then I’ve used the aqua dental liquid in his water bowls and his teeth have stayed lovely and clean .

Just had my 10 year old miniature poodles teeth done, under general anaesthetic, he had bad breath, was advised they really needed doing, dog equivalent to scale and polish and 5 teeth out £116, dog skipped out the surgery as if nothing had happened. Mixed practice primarily farm vet, very rural location if that makes any difference to the price.

My dog groomer offers this service a 30 min tooth clean with ultrasonic brush and charges £20.

As
@villainousbroodmare has explained this is really a disservice to the dog giving a purely cosmetic improvement, but not tackling underlying periodontal disease.
When I carry out a dental procedure the teeth are x-rayed, scaled, charted to identify diseased teeth and ensure patients leave pain free, as well as smelling fresh.
Even dogs with severe dental disease continue to eat despite being in considerable pain.
