Pets4homes pictures being used again

I have been looking out for a specific breed of dog for a while that only comes up on pets4homes every now and again. About 2 months ago an ad came up but we were moving house so not in a position to take a puppy on. I have just looked again and the same ad is on - it’s the same pictures used as before, I can’t remember if the ratio of male/female pups is the same as the last one but I know it’s not the same ad as it’s just come on yesterday. The poster’s profile says breeder but I’m not sure if pets4homes verify this. There is a breed society for this dog which I have contacted but no reply yet so I’m wondering whether pets4homes could be a good option. Does the fact they have reused pictures of an ad posted recently suggest it might be a puppy farm or could it be legitimate?

thank you for your help!

Pets4Homes is a den of iniquity when it comes to puppy farming.

Breeder just means "has dogs that reproduce" and doesn't mean anything in regards to quality. Puppy farmers are breeders. Good breeders don't normally have two litters of puppies so close together.

With regards to the reused photos, either
a) it's a scam
b) the puppies currently available aren't the ones in the photos

Avoid like the plague.

There's no positive reason they would use the same pics twice.

Either it's a scam, the dogs don't exist or they've got multiple bitches breeding just months out from each other and they can't even be bothered to take photos of the new litter so they just recycle the old ad.

Either way I would avoid.

No decent breeders advertise on pets4homes.

Wait until the breed club contacts you, speak to a few breeders, be prepared for a wait.

Thank you all for your replies, and confirming I should avoid. I will just have to be patient about a reply from the society :)

I'd 100% avoid that breeder/ puppy farm.

That said, I have dog who came from Pets4Homes. I did a lot of due diligence on her breeder - long phone convo, visited the house to see the puppies twice, looked at pedigrees, discussed health and longevity, the breeder showed me pictures of him out working the dam. He checked us out too - wanted to meet the DC, wanted to understand our living circumstances and so on. He sent videos and photos between us first meeting our puppy and her coming home.

With ANY breeder you need to do some due diligence. Even on a site like ChampDogs (which generally has better breeders on it than Pets4Homes), even if the breeder is KC assured. You need to decide what matters to you, what lines you personally will not cross. I think about health, inbreeding, the lines in the pedigree, how the parent dogs are kept, what their temperaments are like and so on.
