Hoover V Dog hairs

My trusty Dyson is starting to lose the never ending battle against dog/cat hairs so I'm in the market for a replacement. Before I just blindly buy another Dyson I wanted to check if anybody has found the gold standard of hoovers to cope with pet hair?

Requirements-
mixture of carpets and wooden floors in the house so must switch between both easily.
Must be robust as it'll get used daily and we have 2 (shedding) dogs, a long haired cat and a grubby toddler.
I prefer an upright.
I don't the cylinder on the little battery powered ones would manage a full house clean so possibly not those.

Thanks in advance!

I got the pet hair anti wrap shark… it’s absolutely shit!! Mum gave me her 10yr old Dyson which even at its age is much superior. My replacement will be a Dyson…

I am on my third Miele Cat and Dog. They last about twelve years in a four-bedroom house. Cylinder but brilliant for dog hair. When I bought it, it was tested against a Dyson and was better.

I dont rate Dyson or shark. I look for the most powerful suction. My dog blows his full coat not sheds. I have to hoover couple of times a day. I dont wear black clothing. I'm currently using a hoover.

I deserted Dyson Animal for a Vax Pet, but went back to Dyson as the Vax just couldn’t cope.

I've tried vax and dyson but my £100 Henry beats them all.

My Dyson cordless v11 animal beats my Henry corded hands down for picking up cat and dog fur out of the rugs. I have done comparisons! I held out for ages about getting another Dyson (previous one was ancient and I didn't want to spend a fortune) but I can honestly say it's brilliant. Can just wizz round in minutes and it sucks up all the fur and dust (that others leave behind).

Can you do a whole house with it? The cylinder looks tiny!

I’ve not heard if this one so will look at it, thank you!

Sebo Felix Pet. I have had it for about 12 years. 2 labs. It uses bags - possibly 1 a month - and I replaced all the filters once a couple of years ago.
love it - as much as I could love a vacuum.

I'd say yes if you do it every day so the fur doesn't build up😁. No matter if you can't as it's so easy to empty. And strangely satisfying seeing all the dust and fur sucked out.

Exactly this

We have two Eufy robot hoovers - one upstairs, one down. Absolute game changers.

They cope with a husky/malamute cross who blows her coat, a Romanian rescue who also blows her coat and until recently we also had a long haired cat. They cope with those, two humans and a house where the windows are open 24/7 just fine.

Our actual hoover is an industrial version of a Henry - far more powerful, far more effective, slightly cheaper and seems to negotiate moving better than Henry (who I fucking hated). It's also a wet/dry so can be used for spillages etc (just remove the filter first):

Dyson cleaners are the absolute pits, really very poor. Miele all the way over here.

Rubytinsleslippers · 25/07/2022 21:49

Henry here. Absolutely fabulous on hair, and very robust.

GuyFawkesDay · 25/07/2022 21:57

Miele every time

Though I cover a Eufy cos I really get sick of vacuuming constantly!!

Yep. The cat and dog. Only buy a Miele if you dislike shopping for new hoovers......your stuck with it! They just go on forever.

I have the SEBO Felix Rose and have no problems with it picking the pet hairs and moving from carpet to hard floors. Had mine for a good 3/4 years now and will never go back to a cordless or bagless Hoover. Most people haven't heard of SEBO but I highly recommend them.
