Pee-ing Inside Again

Hi all,

Our 16 week puppy was doing really well with toilet training - he would have the occasionally accident in the house, usually of an evening when he was getting tired, but he was mostly pee-ing outside. He stands by the door and we take him out, he picked it up pretty quick. He's always been good about soiling in the house - he's only ever soiled once in the living room, a couple of days after we brought him home, and although he does still sometimes soil inside it's always in the conservatory, in the same place. He's never pee-d in his crate.

This past week or so though, he's started pee-ing in the living room more often again. Most of the time, they're really little pees, just a few drops or a dribble. He gets taken outside every time he stands by the door, but he doesn't always go - that's okay, sometimes he just wants to be in the garden - but then he'll come in and micro-pee in the living room (or occasionally the kitchen/dining room). He has plenty of outside time every day - on walks and just playing/relaxing in the garden - as he's happiest (and most content) outside.

We've gone right back to basics - taking him out every 45-60mins, after he's slept, after we've played indoors, after he's eaten etc. - but he's still doing these pees inside.

He doesn't pee much on his walks (and he only pooed on a walk for the first time last week), but he sniffs and obviously smells other dogs when we're out. He doesn't appear to be in pain (that I can tell) and he's eating/drinking fine.

Could this be marking instead of actually urinating inside? Is it worth getting him checked out by the vet to be on the safe side? Or is it just a blip in training and should improve in a few more weeks again??

Any help gratefully received - thank you! Smile

Def pop to the vets and take a urine sample with you
Cystitis is quite common in puppies and could well be the cause if lots of little wees
