How to stop raw feeding

We have a 6 month old GSD who was raw fed when he came to us. For lots of reasons (storage, practicality, cost, risk to immunosuppressed member of family) I want to come off raw food.

But...
a) what's the best way to do this?
b) what do you recommend feeding instead?

We slowly moved our pup over to a wet food then from wet to dry. This was recommended by our vet.

My GSD had an infection that nearly lost him a leg from raw food so good move. I moved to Purina and switched over three days.

A gradual process. My dog had serious issues from raw food I adopted him he was previously raw fed. Ask your vet. I followed my vets advice within 48 hours of his diet change my dogs issues were resolved.

We’ve changed over from raw as our pup (6 months old) really wasn’t fussed by it and kept leaving.

we’ve changed over to Butternut Box and did it gradually and pup loves it

I felt a bit guilty as raw good for them, but not sad to see back of raw!

I’d say try Butternut box. It’s taste tested by humans. It’s cooked meat but not processed

I brought home a raw weaned puppy who, for similar reasons to you, I wanted on kibble. I fed the last raw meal, and then the next meal I gave kibble. She ate it. It was fine. No issues at all.

Mind, she's a beagle, so pretty unfussy* when it comes to food.

(*Will eat anything. Cardboard. Matches. Lightbulbs. Anything.)

Step one: buy kibble
step two: feed kibble for next meal and all future meals

Ive got 2 raw fed dogs, but for practical reasons, we feed kibble whenever we are away from home, which could be anything from 2 nights to 2 weeks, several times a year

we switch cold turkey to kibble and then back to raw and have never seen any sort of ill effects from it in either direction

Dogs are evolved to eat all sorts of shit. A different type of dog food won’t bother them!
