Can you not just keep them in separate rooms?

Is the parrot in a cage, or free flying? Is the parrot hand tame? How vocal is the parrot? How calm is the parrot? Is the issue just the presence of the parrot, or is it associated with flight/noise/etc?

We have conures - they are settled and well trained, come on command etc. But even so their behaviour can seem somewhat unpredictable. Their (natural) alarm call is quite alarming. Has the parrot scared the lab?

I have a parrot and a dog. They have a mutually goady relationship but the dog has to stay civil with the parrot as she scores lots of titbits when the parrot is sitting outside his cage eating biscuits, etc. As you have a lab, this could be a way of it seeing your new conure as a more attractive proposition. My parrot is free all day (but, fortunately, is mostly, happy just to sit atop his cage and do the occasional circuit flight - he has one of those launch pad pull down sections to his cage that he likes to sit on and if he has a titbit, the dog is to be found sitting directly underneath, waiting for whatever gets dropped. Anyway, as conures seem to be very noisy, you will just have to take it slowly and maybe your dog will get used to it by degrees. Is the conure new?

If you have to rehome the parrot, the kindest thing you could do for it would be to hand it over to birdline parrot rescue uk, who will ensure it has the right foster home for the rest of its life. (But I hope it doesn't come to that).

Also, I leave classic fm on all day in the parrot's room and both animals seem to relax more with it on so give it a go (or some other music).
