Eye Ulcer & conjunctivitis experience

8 mo puppy has an eye ulcer, we think caused by bacterial infection.. or trauma from her scratching etc. Saw vet yesterday (saturday)who prescribed antibiotic drops etc and pain relief and we have to go back on monday as they might sedate her to double check there is no foreign body in there.
Really struggling to get the drops in but i think i got some in last night. She has a cone too. This morning we were so pleased as it was looking sooo much better, but after another battle of trying to get drops in (think i hit the target once?! Lots of surrounding fur!) and then a little game of tug it suddenly looked really bad again, super red and inflamed.

Is this from exerting herself? The blood pumping & flowing making it worse? Or is it normal after application of drops?
Anyone have any experience of that?

Now she is calm and sleepy again and its looking ok-ish again. So we're trying to keep things low key for her.

No experience sorry but if it looks any worse today I'd contact the out of hours vet.

Our lab had conjunctivitis which the vet prescribed eye drops. We used them but never actually hit his eye! We found using diluted salt water (as you would as a human) worked :)

Not quite the same, but when our cat scratched his eye and gave himself an ulcer, it took a good two weeks before it cleared up - and even now it gets a bit gunky sometimes.

I would speak to your vet and see if you can get a paste instead of drops, or see if you can take her to the vet everyday and have someone give you a hand.
