I'm getting a pup soon and would like to invest in better food than my old dog had ( expensive end dry kibble) I've read guides and reviews but hard to know what to believe. Do you get better by paying more eg Acana or are the expensive ones as bad as Supermarket own brand? Is raw the only thing that's actually good for them?? My lab ate everything with relish so that was never an issue.

What is the pup being fed at the moment?

i like Millie’s wolf heart but one consideration is your ddog has to eat it and sometime they don’t eat what we want them too!
i can’t be bothered with raw as it just seems such a faff and personally dry works better for me as I can train with it etc

IMO what food is best totally depends your dog.

My own dog does really well on Harringtons wet and dry. The expensive stuff didn't really agree with him due to the high protein and he often got runny, bloody poo.

He also has a lamb intolerance which rules out a few foods.

In my work I've seen dogs thrive on all kinds of foods from Chappie to Skinners to Acana and Raw. You just need to find what suits you and your dog both in terms of price and quality.

Depends on the dog. Look at the ingredients list you can learn a lot from there- does it sound like what you would want to eat.
a high quality kibble can be more economical as you have to feed less.
take a look at barking heads, Arden grange and essentials.

We have just completed a transition from raw to a high quality dry food purely for cost reasons, (we've had to cut back all over). We're using Eden dog food and are really happy.

Fed many dogs on either Acana or Orijen, you dont need much of it as very high nutritional value and they love it. They are both the same company and i have never had a single issue with either in 15 yrs. That however is a different story with other brands, terrible issues with royal canin, and other veterinary diets. All about dog food is the best way to independently check food quality.

I use orijen after doing some research. Have a look at this website OP, it's very useful.
