Take a camping hook and you can peg ddog outside while you are cooking /relaxing etc..

Ground spike and tether so pup can sit outside with you without someone having to keep a hold.

Are you likely to have access to a hose? You'll want to be able to rinse the saltwater/sand off if you're going to the beach. Drying coat is a good idea too, they can also be wetted and used as cooling coats if the weather is warm.

Have you been away with pup before?

Yep, get a ground anchor so your dog can hang outside and you can have the doors open. If yours is likely to chew through a regular rope/lead if unsupervised, get a cable with a metal core that they can't chew through.

If you're not sure about him in the water, get a long line (one that floats, like this) for his first few goes swimming/paddling.

And a microfbre towel to dry him off and help with the sand. We have one like this, which is like an oven glove, and really easy to use.

Think about something to create shade on the beach, and make sure you have a little water bowl you can take down to the beach with you, and plenty of fresh water for him.

Does the caravan have decking as you can tie a leash to a ballustrade.

We took our one year old (very chilled) lab away in our campervan for the first time a few weeks ago. Obvious basics such as food, bowls, bed, toys, treats. Also think about if you're eating out anywhere (we use long lasting treat like filled frozen Kong to keep her busy but not overexcited).

Yes to stake / tether type arrangement- most campsites insist on dogs being on lead/tether. Ours didn't like it at first but soon got used to it. Ensure that they can access both sunny spots and shade within the radius of where you put the stake (as this will change during the day, obvious as that sounds!)

Stock of 'dog towels' (in our case just older towels we don't use for ourselves any more). We also took her spare harness, lead and collar just in case.

Actually went far better than we thought, but the weather was good which helps! Have a lovely time

We always take some nice chews (lambs horn/ olive branch)
Torch for late night pee breaks
Fancy treats in case bribery is required
Lots of towels
Drying coat if your dog likes water then they’ll be dry by the time you get back

Oh and a dog tag with the caravan site and I’m on holiday the other side
just in case
