Dog flaps in the back door if you own a cat

So I have an indoor cat British shorthair absolutely no way she can go out she’ll get pancaked, no common sense with traffic whatsoever.

but I have a little French bulldog who to be honest is really struggling with potty training she’s nearly 2 she had it absolutely sorted for the first six months of our life and then unfortunately we had to move into an emergency flat and she’s never really got the hang.
i’m not giving up though we’ve moved to a house now that has a kitchen area and a backdoor I think if I put one of those flaps in she might be able to get the hang of it but I’m deeply concerned that the cat will be able to squeeze out anybody have any experience of this with the microchip ones or the facial recognition ?

I couldn't use the microchip flap I installed as the microchip has to be in the neck area. My dog's had 'migrated' so the flap didn't work.

I could have had her chipped again but it seemed a bit weird.

Yeah I know what you mean I mean she’s already micro chipped for safety reasons how many microchips does an animal need.

anyone had any experience of facial recognition will it differentiate between the dog and the cat ?

We have a microchip one but it doesn’t always close or open properly depending how fast/slow they go out something to bear in mind

might be easier to persevere with toilet training. If your expecting the dog to know to go out the flap then you could expect them to wait at the backdoor when they need to go too
