Why is she doing this?

So ddog rescue lhasa apso 12 years old never had any problems with toiletting. Goes on command if I take her on the garden but also stomps on my foot and leads me to the door if she needs out.
Three days this week she has peed on the floor when I'm within three feet of her. Even though on each occasion she had been taken out within the last half hour and on one occasion we had just come in after being on the garden for half an hour.
Each of the three times coincided with me needing to walk her a little later than the usual half nine because of deliveries, family stuff etc. This isn't usually a problem although Bella prefers it if I stick to the usual routine. She's not peeing over where she had peed previously because it's been in different areas thankfully always on the hard floor.
Do dogs protest pee or is it just coincidence?

No, they don't protest pee. I would get a check up at the Vets to start with.

Does she poo on her walk? Could she have a full bowel from waiting and it's making her bladder smaller/more urgent?

UTI?

MightyMeerkat · 10/04/2022 19:43

Definitely take her to the vet. I had this with my pup and it was a UTI. I'd take her out and thought she was peeing but she wasn't. Because it hurt she only went when she really had to which was usually on the kitchen floor.

I will get her checked out although she's been fine again this morning but of course we did the usual first thing walk today. She does poo on her walk but would poo on the garden if she needed to as she has very occasionally and none of the times she has walked late has she been desperate to poo waiting until the usual half way round. Sounds like it could be a UTI then although she hasn't asked to go out more frequently than usual on any day. Poor dog, will get my act together and walk her early and phone the vet as well.

My cat does this when she's got a uti. Older animals are more prone to it. Unless anything else has changed in which case it could be stress.
