How to separate dog and baby?

Can anyone recommend a car hammock that only overs half the seat? Currently the dogs (2 cavaliers) have a hammock that covers the whole of the back seat but when baby arrives I want to keep them separate.

I can't put them in the boot with a guard as that's where the pram will need to be.

Anyone found a good solution to this?

The dogs by law must be in the boot or secured, this could be in harnesses or boxes. This law has been in place for a long time but is being actively enforced now. If you need to travel with dogs and a child, a crate that can be secured to the other back passenger shear makes sense

Thank you @AwkwardPaws27 yes that looks like the kind of thing I'm looking for. Dogs are obviously already harnessed/ seatbelted in but the hammock covers all the seats and I need to other side clear for the isofix base to go in. Was hoping to find a hammock with that bit in the middle that keeps the two sections separate

Can you get a boot splitter? We have one that splits the boot 25/75, the pram goes in the bigger bit and the dog fits perfectly in the smaller bit. We have an estate car and a smallish dog though.

Could you put the two dogs in a cage secured on the back seat by the seatbelt if there really isn't room in the boot?

I put the buggy in the back seat next to baby and my golden retriever goes in the boot.

How do you secure the pram please? I can't work out how to secure it if we put our dog in the boot.

This is not true. In fact I attended an NCT car seat training workshop in conjunction with the fire brigade only a few months back, who advised that in a crash, survival and injury outcomes are better if the car seat (rear facing) is positioned in the front passenger seat (airbag turned off).

Kurgo dog seat for each of the dogs - one on a rear seat and one on the front passenger seat. They have a means to secure the dog to the seat inbuilt into them.

Then baby on the other back passenger seat.

I am in same boat as you OP, and looking for something similar.
Even if it is against the advice of everyone else out dog will have to stay on back seat as literally have no other option.

If I can’t find a hammock I will probably get a dog eat belt or secure dog to headrest (these can be bought online) so that dog can’t reach the baby if I can’t find a way to separate them. Will just put a blanket on the seat x

@AwkwardPaws27 I just strap it in with the seat belt.
