How quick does YuCalm kick in?

We've been giving our nervy 18 month old for almost 2 weeks and not really noticing any difference.

Has anyone given it to their dogs and it taken a while to show improvement?

It hasn't worked for any of the dogs I've tried it with tbh. I have much more success with adaptil collars and skullcap and valerian tablets if necessary

It won't work for everyone.

Have you tried Zylkene?

Thanks for the suggestions. We've tried adaptil collar which did nothing. Will have a look into the other suggestions and will carry on with yucalm

Our terrified Rommie rescue is on a much cheaper version - Serene-Um. I'm also looking at whether it's cheaper to just buy tryptophan for her - you can get 100g bags, but I'm not clear on dosing yet.

We noticed a difference within a few weeks. And a big difference at that. We ran out and thought we'd see how she got on without them (about 6 months into trying this) and shot out to buy more within a few days. She was so nervy that she must have been miserable. She still overreacts to things like dropping something on the floor, but is no longer afraid of her own shadow. Every week we spot a new improvement in a behaviour such as walking past something that used to spook her.

I thought it didn't really work for us. We upped his dose but eventually stopped it. However I gave him 2 recently at Christmas and he was totally chilled, too chilled in fact!

I don't use it regularly now. Just as and when needed.

Rescue remedy night ( the one which has no alcohol) works on some.

Just start with a low does (1 drop on food) and increase according to size and reaction.

It doesn't work for all dogs.
Valerian can be good, also CBD oil.
